Summary Post

It has been pretty exciting seeing my entrepreneurial idea evolve throughout this semester. Looking back at where I started, I really did not know how to go about my project originally. The lectures this semester have helped expand on this idea and understand more about the technological aspects of it.

This is where my project improved the most over is lifespan. Technologically I was a bit clueless from the start but I have learned enough to at least partially understand what needs to go on for me to make this project a possiblility.

Throughout the semester I learn of the importance of social media to spread the word on my project. I also took a look at the importance of the hardware, input/ output devices, and operating system I choose to use for my idea. I was also able to see what  the differences are between my blog and an elite international blog, like Engadget.com.

Blog Review- Engadget

The blog I decided to review was rated #6 on Technorati.com's list of the Top 100 Blogs on the web today. This being said, it was hard ot find much to complain about this blog.

Engadget.com is a technology blog that covers all sorts of new gadgets and other electronic projects. The blog is very popular around the world. It operates 4 cites in English and 6 international versions. The cite was launch in 2004 and purchased by AOL in 2005.

One of the things that makes Engadget so successful is the quality of the writing. Each of the articles is timely and well-written. Another aspect that makes it so popular is the information the blog covers. Everyone is interested in hearing what the latest and greatest technological improvement is and Engadget usually provides this information sooner and in more detail than rival blogs.

Week 7- Operating Systems and Colors

Which operating system I choose to use for my entrepreneurial project would be one of the major systems. This would be especially important if I were to employ other researcher to aid me in my work. At this point I would have to consider the advantages and disadvantages of different multi-user operating systems.

I would probably go with a Microsoft operating system if I had to choose now. This is because it is the system I am most familiar with. With this operating system in place I would not have to waste time getting acquainted with a new system. This time could be used for more beneficial things like the research process.

Color use would be very important in presentation of my information to clients. For example, if I were to show the effects a strike to the head could have on a brain over time, and I wanted show one of those x-ray images of a brain, the color would be crucial to make my point. It would also be important when applying colors to the helmets to match certain teams.

Week 6- Bits and Bytes

This weeks lectures were probably the most difficult to apply to my project. This is because, at this stage of my entrepreneurial process there is not much need for detailed computer information.

When this will come in handy is during research on the effectiveness of helmets against contact from different angles at different velocities. Because of all the variables that will be involved in this research, there is going to be a ton of data that will needed to be stored somewhere.

The lectures this week dealt with the different size of different pieces of data and how many bytes they take up. After learning of this it's clear that my project would require at least a few gigabytes. This would handle the Excel documents containing research data, as well as reports on breakthroughs and other things of note in my research.
